We meet at our Pisa airport rendezvous for this 7 night tour. The tour takes in very varied landscapes through our southward trek from northern Tuscany through Umbria and into Lazio. Motorbikes will be allocated on the first afternoon from our Lucca base. This tour will include some motorway riding but otherwise concentrates on good country roads. The total ride will be between 1500 and 2000km (up to 1200 miles). Race day is on the sixth day. Tickets include entry to the circuit for Saturday and Sunday. Itinerary: The meeting point is Pisa airport at 2.30pm on the start date of your tour. If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us. We set off for an approximate 2 hour ride to the first hotel just outside of the historic town of Volterra. All riders are provided with a radio based intercom for bike to bike communication, a route book and map. We advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that works in Italy. This first ride is completed in a group with the tour leader. The first hotel at Volterra provides dinner for all clients as part of the tour package. The second day's ride skirts San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Siena using roads that are perfect for Ducati sports bikes, before heading east towards and beyond Arrezzo. The end of the day takes us to the Etruscan stronghold of Cortona with its views across the 'piana' below. This 'piana' or plain that stretches below is famous for the beef it produces so I advise a decent Bistecca Chiannina for dinner. If anyone needs to work off their meal (the tour guide for example!) a quick jog to the Medici fort at the top of the town should just about do it (either that or it will be the end of you!). Crossing the Umbrian border as soon as we leave Cortona we head off in a round-about route southwards towards Orvieto. We have plenty of time time take a snaking route around the bake of Trasimeno and through the more gentle rolling hills of Umbria. Our arrival in the zone of Orvieto will be towards the end of the afternoon for our third overnight rest. Orvieto offers many opportunites for dinner and a menu with definite differences from the Tuscan fayre of yesterday. We have tickets for the Saturday practice and Sunday race day (included in the tour price). After the race we head north planning to cover about half the distance between Vallelunga and Lucca. Our overnight stop will be on the interesting Monte Argentario which protrudes out into the deep blue of the Mediterranean. A full day and a full ride up past Massa Marittima, Volterra and on towards Lucca. The pace can be set by the group depending on energy levels. Our last night in Lucca is at the hotel Villa Corte degli Dei. A farewell dinner is organised in Lucca with all food and drink paid for by DucatiTours. The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours' base and all participants are transported back to the airport. 7 Day Tour with Superbikes at Vallelunga
