The meeting point is Pisa airport at 12.30pm on the start date of your tour. If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us.
From the meeting point you will be taken by the support vehicle to the DucatiTours' base for a briefing and the allocation of bikes. There are changing facilities available and there will be time to sort out any small items you would like to carry with you.
The first afternoon includes a ride into the foothills of the Apennines north of Lucca, up to the ski resort of Abetone. The first ride is used by the guides to ensure that everyone is comfortable with the bikes and roads.
The Welcome Dinner is part of the tour price and will be held at a restaurant within the Lucca walls
Day 2 sees us set off for a full day on sweeping roads winding south through Tuscany before looping around to the next hotel near the ancient walled city of Monteriggioni. For convenience and to not lose any riders this early(!) we advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that works in Italy. The riding today will demonstrate the huge variety and challenge of Tuscany's roads and will, for those who have not been here before, really show you why we set this business up!
Day 3 sees us head across the "Crete Senese" on more open roads, down to Montalcino and back around to Siena before a diagonal trip across the heart of Chianti and on to the next hotel, which forms our base for the next two nights. This hotel provides dinner (not included in the tour price) for the group from their quality restaurant.
We now have two full days in the hills of the Casentino and onto the mountain passes of the Casentino and Mugello. Race track smooth corners on the Passi di Callo and Consuma with some less good surfaces on the famous Muraglione, Cento Forche and others (view our video library to see what these roads are like!). Days you will not forget!
The last full day is used to wind cross-country back towards Lucca. The route heads north along the Raticosa pass towards Bologna before adopting a zig-zag route in a general westerly direction through the Apennines. We aim to reach Lucca in the mid-afternoon in order to provide some unwind time before our Farewell dinner at Lucca's best restaurant.
The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours' base and all participants are transported back to the airport.
