"The tour was everything we hoped it would be, and more. The combination of Ducati sports motorcycles and the beautiful, undulating, well maintained roads of Tuscany is a winning combination as is. Add to this great local knowledge,fantastic restaurants, peaceful comfortable hotels, and routes tailored to the group, and of cousre, plenty of entertaining banter between Joe and Steve...we had an absolute blast!
Joe and Steve have everything covered; all you have to do is roll out of bed (not early of course), don your gear, get on a motorcycle that is clean (although it might not have been that way when you got off it!) and serviced and follow your ever-considerate guide.
No need to worry about maps; Joe finds the best roads and lets you loose (behind him) and will wait for the entire group at the next intersection. Nobody gets lost, except that we all had no idea where we had been! But Joe covered that as well: he marked our route over the 5 days on a map of Tuscany (5 times, so we all were able to take one home! Thanks Joe!) The Tuscan countryside is quite diverse but always beautiful, on those odd occasions I could tear my gaze from the road. Most of our riding was on well maintained, rarely-straight dual-carriageway roads, which made for very enjoyable riding. Joe also threw in a bit more variety; dicing with the scooters, buses and other maniacs in Florence and Bologna, and dirt-track action in the Tuscan wilderness (poor Steve and all that dust!). We had a lovely sunny afternoon watching the Il Chianti Classico (Classic car race) on the roadside with the locals. And the food! Joe managed to find those restaurants that we were unable to find prior to the tour; authentic, delicious Italian!
