We are running two beginners weekend tours this season for riders who have less experience and have not toured in groups before. These long weekend trips will give exposure to the type of riding involved in our other trips but in a more relaxed manner. The spring weekend trip will be based in Tuscany and the winter weekend in Sicily for some late season sunshine. Both trips are centre-based with a single hotel for all nights of the tour (4 nights in total). Each day there will be guided tours on offer and the guide is happy to give riding tips, advice on safe road placement and general bike handling. Hotels are well equipped and offer comfort and a place to unwind after your day's riding.
Motorbikes are allocated on the first day (early afternoon) followed by an easy ride in order to get acquainted with the surrondings and the bikes. Support staff are happy to taxi them to town and other surrounding locations. The roads and terrain offer many varied and interesting rides (generally medium speed roads) and will provide an entertaining route for you to get used to our fleet of 749s. The Tuscan weather in May is generally very warm and dry during the day, with the weather during a Sicilian November being mild (warm by UK standards) and dry.
Spring Weekend
This 4 night beginners weekend tour is based at the country hotel 'La Camporena' in the heart of Tuscany's chianti region. The surrounding area is everyones image of Tuscany with rolling hills, vineyards, forests, olive groves and picturesque hilltop towns. The hotel provides a base for the whole trip. A basic itinerary (below) is offered.
The meeting point is Pisa airport at 2.30pm on the start date of your tour (cheap flights are available from various UK airports to Pisa with Ryanair). If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us.
From the meeting point you will be taken by minibus to the DucatiTours' base in Lucca for a briefing and allocation of the bikes. There are changing facilities available and there will be time to sort out any small items you would like to carry with you.
The afternoon includes a 2 hour ride to the location of the hotel. All riders are provided with a radio based intercom for bike to bike communication, a route book and map. We advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that works in Italy.
The hotel and the nearby town of Greve in Chianti provide an ideal location for our beginners weekend tour as it offers all the facilities you would expect and good access to this very picturesque area of Tuscany. For the first evening we have planned a group dinner (included in the tour price) in Greve.
Each day of the riding center tour gives the riders exposure to riding in group and in an area that is very different to your home patch. Each day there is the option of joining our guide for daily circuits or for following their own route. We organise trips to local places of interest such as San Gimignano, Siena and Monteriggioni.
We also offer tours according to clients' choice. Tell the guide where you would like to go and we will sort out an itinerary.
For the last night a farewell dinner is organised (included in the tour price) in one of the finest restaurants of the town. Transport is provided
The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours' base and all participants are transported back to the airport.
Winter Weekend
This 4 night beginners weekend tour is based at a resort hotel in Venetico Marina on the northern coast of Sicily. The hotel provides a base for the whole trip. A basic itinerary (below) is offered.
The meeting point is Palermo airport at 12.30pm on the start date of your tour (cheap flights are available from London Stansted to Palermo with Ryanair). If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us.
From the meeting point you will be taken by minibus to the hotel which will form the base for the trip. Here we will provide a briefing and allocate the bikes.
There are changing facilities available and there will be time to sort out any small items you would like to carry with you.

Venetico Marina provides an ideal location for our beginners weekend tour as it offers all the facilities you would expect and good access roads leading around and into the island. For the first evening we have planned a group dinner (included in the tour price) at the hotel.
Each day of the beginners weekend tour gives the riders the option of joining our guide for daily circuits or for following their own route. All trips with the guide will use routes designed for riders with less experience and who are not used to riding in groups and/or in foreign countries. The riding is more relaxed than for our other tours. The day trips take in a number of locations including Mount Etna, and provide a real flavour for the island. The average temperatures in Sicily in November are around 18C or 65F and coupled with the great food, you will find this the best introduction to performance motorcycle touring.
For the last night a farewell dinner is organised (included in the tour price) in one of the finest restaurants of the town. Taxis/the support car will transport everyone.
The final morning bikes are returned and all participants are transported back to the airport.
