The 7 night Tuscan Riding Centre holiday is based at a characterful country hotel near Volterra. Each day there will be a guided tour on offer or you may plan your own itinerary. The hotel is characterful and well equipped with a large pool, terraces where one can sit back and soak up the atmosphere and a converted church that serves as a dining room. The position is very tranquil and includes stunning views. Motorbikes are collected on the first day (early afternoon) followed by an easy ride to the hotel. Clients travelling from far-a-field, (who may be 'enjoying' jet lag) may prefer the option of being driven to the hotel (your bike will be trailered to the hotel). The riding centre tour allows you to choose your own day trips or follow the guided tours to surrounding cities such as Siena, San Gimignano and Florence. The ancient Etruscan and Roman town of Volterra is only a few kilometers away with its many restaurants, bars, shops and places of interest. The riding centre holidays work especially well for riders with partners who prefer some time away from motorbikes. Support staff are happy to taxi them to town and other surrounding locations. The roads and terrain offer many fun and interesting rides (generally medium speed roads) for those who want to use our fleet of 749s as they were intended! This tour has no motorway riding and concentrates on good country roads. Routes are amendable according to your requirements and vary from curvy sections to more relaxing routes. How far you ride is fully down to you but the guide is happy to take you out for anything up to 450km (270 miles) per day! This 7 night riding center tour is based at a country hotel just outside of Volterra. A basic itinerary (below) is offered. The meeting point is Pisa airport at 2.30pm on the start date of your tour. If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us. There is an approximate 2 hour ride to the hotel outside Volterra. All riders will be provided with a radio based intercom for bike to bike communication, a route book and map. We advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that works in Italy. This first ride is completed as a group with the tour leader. The hotel provides dinner for all clients (included in the tour price) but you are welcome to go and find your own restaurant should you prefer (but please remember drinking and riding is strictly not tolerated!) Volterra provides an ideal location for our riding center tour as it offers good access to the heart of Tuscany, westwards the coast can be reached within about 35 minutes, travelling south brings you to Siena and on into the southern extremes of Tuscany and, best of all, the roads within 2 minutes of the hotel are brilliant for sports bikes! The second day includes an optional tour to the historic towns of Siena and San Gimignano and also takes in the interesting walled town of Monteriggioni. We are able to stop at each town and explore on foot or if you prefer we can leave the towns and check out more roads. Optional tour to Florence with routes through the Chianti region. These roads bring to mind launch reports you've read for many, many bikes, providing endless turns, climbs, descents, with slow sections interspersed with openings that give chance to let the twin cylinders breathe! (Of course we will keep within all speed limits.....) For those feeling energetic, an early start and a day trip to the Island of Elba for a fish lunch; not quite Fish and Chips but we think you'll like it! Ferry tickets are an extra charge and are bought on the day - tickets cost approx. 40 euro per bike/rider and 20 per pillion for return tickets. Optional Tour of the central Chianti zone with many photo opportunities followed by a challenging climb up into the higher hills of Northern Tuscany around the ski resort of Abetone. Clients' choice. Tell the guide where you would like to go. There are many options available including a day trip to the Ducati Factory & Museum and Galleria Ferrari! For the last night a farewell dinner is organised in Volterra (included in the tour price) in one of the finest restaurants of the town. Transport is provided. The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours' base and all participants are transported back to the airport. 7 Night Riding Centre Tour of Tuscany Click here to book/enquire
