From the rendezvous point at Pisa airport the 7 night Tuscany tour takes in the best riding roads of the area and truly beautiful scenery. There will be plenty of delicious Tuscan cuisine to sample and the occasional glass of wine typical to the region. Motorbikes are collected on the first day (early afternoon) followed by an entertaining ride to the first hotel in the heart of the Chianti area of Tuscany. Participants travelling from far-a-field, (who may be 'enjoying' jet lag) may prefer the option of being driven to the first hotel (your bike will be taken by trailer to the hotel). The following days and nights will present many opportunities for some spirited riding and some luxurious relaxation.

This 7 night tour follows the itinerary below.

The meeting point is Pisa airport at 2.30pm on the start date of your tour. If you cannot meet at this time, please contact us.
From the meeting point you will be taken by minibus to the DucatiTours' base for a briefing and the allocation of bikes.
There are changing facilities available and there will be time to sort out any small items you would like to carry with you.

We set off for an approximate 2 hour ride to the first hotel near the ancient walled city of Monteriggioni. For convenience and to not lose any riders this early(!) all riders are provided with a radio based intercom for bike to bike communication, a route book and map. We advise all participants to bring a mobile phone that works in Italy. This first ride is completed as a group with the tour leader. Dinner is provided at a local restaurant (included in the tour price).

Day 2 includes optional circular trips heading into Southern Tuscany including the Etruscan stronghold Cortona and into the rolling Umbrian countyside around Lake Trasimeno and Citta di Castello. Some of the roads are narrow and therefore slow, others are a biker's dream. The evening sees a return to the same hotel for a well earned rest. For those who prefer not to follow the tour, you are free to choose your own destinations.

The third day's ride only covers about 40km as the crow flies. We, however, are not crows and, as Ducati riders, will be taking a less direct and altogether more entertaining route. This route takes in rolling hills, riding through a mix of wooded, agricultural and vineyard covered landscapes. The first stretch of road around Radda is fantastic as is the section near Monte San Savino, the remainder range from slower roads in the valley floors to faster straighter segments. We stop for a lunch break in the Siena area and you will have the opportunity to look around the city. The afternoon ride takes us west across country towards the coast before heading towards our next hotel stop near the 'Manhattan of Medieval Italy', San Gimignano.

Today we travel east traversing the heart of the Chianti area famous for its natural beauty and the seemingly limitless inspiration that it has lent to the world's artists. Route and pace on this leg of the tour is tailored to the group but is always entertaining with sections (10-25km) of endless curves punctuated with small towns and villages where we are able to slow down and catch some breath. The 4th and 5th nights are based in our selected hotel near Reggello to the south east of Florence. Dinners are provided by the hotel and are included in the tour price.

We offer an optional tour up into the wild hills of the Casentino. There are some long climbs to complete followed by an interesting descent in to the town of Poppi. From Bibbiena we head loosely north to connect to the SS67, a brilliant biking road, and desceding through the Mugello towards Florence. For those who want a little culture and less riding the support team will offer a short tour of Florence. Alternatively you may use the day as a rest day or decide on you own route.

A slightly earlier start today to reflect the longer ride ahead. The afternoon includes an organised trip around the Ducati factory museum. After the museum visit we ride to our next overnight stop a little to the south of Bologna. We are staying in good company here as the hotel has been used as a location for the launch of the Sport Classic range by the factory.

The last full day takes us back over the Appenines along the routes used for many years by the Ferrari, Maserati and no doubt Ducati engineers to test the performance and handling of new models. The end of the afternoon sees our arrival back in Lucca for the last night. A farewell dinner is organised (included in the tour price) in one of Lucca's finest restaurants with no need to ride the bikes afterwards.

The final morning bikes are returned to the DucatiTours' base and all clients are transported back to the airport.
